Brett grew up in Fairfield and Newtown CT in
the family restaurant business. Her parents ran many successful restaurants in Westchester and Fairfield
County including Seascape in Westport and Greenwoods in Bethel. Brett’s father hosted many themed
wine dinners and offered excellent selections on the wine lists at his restaurants; he is also an avid collector.
This influenced Brett’s interest in the wine world and she later went on to receive sommelier training at Wine
and Spirit Education Trust finishing the Intermediate Certificate course. She continued to pursue learning
more about the wine industry by working in wine sales and in a tasting room at a local Connecticut winery. In
addition to working at her family’s restaurants Brett gained valuable experience working in many capacities at various
New York City restaurants along the way.
Prior
to opening The Litchfield Saltwater Grille Brett spent most of her time pursuing her passion for acting. Her
training took place at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Michael Howard studios in NYC. She has
performed in many local theatres and Off Broadway. She brings the same creative instincts, artistic eye,
and unique fight for excellence to her work in the restaurant business as she does to the stage.
Brett plans and hosts the special events and charity
functions at the restaurant, directs the wine program, and coordinates the in and out of house catered functions including
weddings. She is involved with the community serving on the board of directors for The Litchfield Visual
Artists as secretary. Brett lives with her husband Albert in Bantam with the most precious black pug Nina,
the love of their life, who loves to run and play in the country.
