In 2012, Brook and Andy Stowers decided they wanted to move to New England.  Enamored with the charm and history of the area as well as its proximity to all that some of the nation’s greatest metropolitan areas have to offer, we settled on NW Connecticut.  We spent 6 months looking at a large number of restaurants, each with its own strengths.  The Litchfield Saltwater Grille was our choice and has a great history.

Originally founded by Albert and Brett Clugston in 2007, it quickly became an award winning destination restaurant for seafood lovers in NW Connecticut. In December of 2013, we purchased the restaurant intent on building on their success.  As for us, we are the typical modest and self deprecating Midwesterners from the far North of Wisconsin.  So, a few words for the curious.  Andy Stowers was a software industry executive with a logistics and supply chain technology company for nearly 20 years, running a global sales and marketing organization.  Brook Noel Stowers is a non-fiction author with more than a million books in print on subjects ranging from top selling grief and bereavement books to organization and self help for women.  She maintains an online community of nearly 1,000 women that take advantage of her life and career coaching services.

Additionally, we kept Saltwater Grille’s well trained and popular staff to provide familiar faces to our loyal customers.

Looking forward, you will find we have traditional Midwestern hospitality and warmth with an affection for good food.
